Performing well on the pitch also requires discipline in your diet, and Footinter has put together a list of foods that are not recommended for sportsmen and women, in this case footballers. It is possible to eat healthily every day!

1- Fresh baguettes
Eat bread, yes, but choose it properly. To ensure a peaceful digestion, avoid fresh baguettes. Very hard to digest, particularly because of its gluten content, white baguette contains enzymes (alpha-amylase and xylanase), as well as E300 flour treatment agents for better preservation.

2- Fruit at the end of a meal
Eat 5 pieces of fruit a day, but avoid eating it as a dessert. Fruit digests more slowly at the end of a meal. In fact, it is more likely to stagnate in your digestive tract when mixed with other foods. For digestive comfort, fruit should be eaten at the start of a meal or as a snack.

3- Soya
Soya disrupts digestion. It contains many carbohydrates that your body does not know about. The digestive system is therefore unable to eliminate them. Bloating or stomach cramps are likely to be the result of this poor assimilation.

4- Water with meals
Drinking at the table is bad for your digestive system. Whether it's water, a cup of tea or a glass of wine, the liquid will end up in your stomach in less than 10 minutes. It will dilute the enzymes that are effective in assimilating carbohydrates, fats and proteins. The digestive juices, which are less effective, will disrupt and slow down your digestion.

5- Bread and cheese on toast
Certain food combinations make digestion more difficult. The combination of bread and cheese should be limited. The carbohydrates in the bread prevent the calcium in the cheese from being properly digested. They can cause stomach and intestinal discomfort.
